ADC 18a

Here's a pic of the driver configuration including the 15X12" KEF woofer.
Your cabinets look to be in very good shape!

Nat - Here are some more pics

Lord have Mercy! There is no doubt that I am the first one to ever open these speaker as it looks like it just came of the assembly line. I sort of felt like Geraldo opening Al Capone's hidden vault. Like Geraldo, I did not find any treasure but a very cool and weird construction.

Can you believe all the insulation? Hopefully it is not asbestos and I don't wake up to find myself in an iron lung tomorrow. Cough - Hack - Cough - I really don't want to go any further and remove the rather large rectangular speakers as they are really bolted in there good and being that I can see the the rings are more rubber like than felt and show no signs of cracking... it is probably best that I just leave them alone.

There really is not a whole lot out there about these on the internet, in fact this forum is really all that I could find on Google. I will probably hang on to these for awhile since they are in such great shape and pretty cool. Anyone ever seen any of these move through the market? Just curious on value?

KEF woofer looks the same -

Cripes - How do you get the front off? From the back there are some strong similarities to Tubed's photos of the KEFs. Mine looks like the woofer is rotated 90 degrees and then there is just a single tweet. The fronts have to be held in with some of nuts/bolts from the back. I will work on it more in the morning as I would really like to get a picture from the front. Might as well since I am this far into it:) Just too tired tonight...

Real nice, I think my 14Bs from 1963 have the same driver components, a 12 woofer and a sealed tweeter. Know anything about the 14Bs? Cant find much on them out there!

Brian - could you post some pictures? As you say, information is thin on the ground and I don't even know what yours look like. But apparently they were popular enough that there was a B version.
