hi

mine are missing grilles too, if you find a source of them let me know - otherwise i am planning to make mine from scratch.

The grills are usually the first things to get trashed on the 1X90 series. Best of luck finding some orphans.

Someone is (was anyway) selling a really clean pair of M grills on eBay... they're the wrong length (longer than 1290 grills) and lack the standoff/mounting pins, but the width and shape looked correct for the L1290 otherwise. If I had a pair of 1290's that needed grills, I might have been tempted to buy these and make them work.

This just came up a couple days ago, with a buying 1290's with no grills. My suggestion was to build some frames out of rounded wood molding, and stretch some black grill over them. You may be able to get some mounting pins that will work from places like Parts Express. Maybe even use some adheasive type Velco strips.

well if they are keepers for you then velco will 'sound' better then pins anyway

Anybody have an idea on where to find speaker grills for ADS L1290's?
I made these, cost me 15$ for the fabric. Bought them little while ago for 200$ but i did have to refinish and make grills.they sound amazing
