That's exactly what I was thinking.

I'm going to look around for some short, heavy duty casters. Measure their height, then build the risers to be just a bit shorter; 0.25-0.5".
Caster with flat steel assembly not the post style could mount ti the botttom, however the thickness of the bottom and characteristics of mdf (if thats what the speaker is made of) will prove to be rather weak given the weight if the speaker. Would be fine on hardwood but caster isnt rolling particularly well on carpet, which creates drag wanting to pull caster from mounts. While could reinforce under the caster, most casters will be to tall given the sizr needed to be effective.
Personal choice i understand, but if these are spending thier life on carpet, the hardwood will be stronger that what came before it anyway (with corners braced)
Never had problems with my 2030 as they were, so i submit the failure wasnt due SOLELY to the foot desighn (mine were ok) but also to handling. That said, combine the hardwood design with correct handing and problem is solved already.
You could also build the new braces so only the corners touch the floor. (Rout between corners to raise this portion off the floor)
If you do use casters, be sure to epoxy them to the bottom and then screw them. Pre-drill holes and use molly type threads, and epoxy them as well. (Or polyurethane construction adhesive)
As ive said though, personal preference? But a caster done correctly givem the weight, if counter productive if these will be on carpet. Damage that happened wont happen again anyway when the speaker is not walked from here to your house. Normal positioning wont do that. Period. Why solve a problem that will not exist.
