Advent Speaker Identification.

A coworker asked me if I wanted his grandparents stereo setup. I’m trying to identify if the speakers are worth getting from him or not. Any idea what model Advents these are and are they worth fooling with. Thanks.

I think those are Advent 4002's. The tweeters were changed from the earlier 'fried egg' style. Great speakers for Econowave conversion (see the neverending thread for that).

Actually I think that's an Original Large Advent (OLA) with the tweeters changed out by the owner. Woofers may not be original either (most pics on the web show the earlier masonite version) but those are correct replacements.

I agree they do look like OLA cabs..I would just grab em and figure it out later..

I’ll just grab them. I have never done speaker foam replacement so a free pair is probably the best to start out on.

Definitely not original parts, but still might sound ok. They look like a good set to get some practice re-foaming without any risk. Enjoy !
