Advice requested on repair Yamaha CA-1000

I have got one of our good friends in the NL - Philips - . This is the only model from Philips with separate windings, so it separates main voltage AND is a variac. Took me some time to find one. The amp had an easy life, it looks brand new, also on the inside.

It ohms out ok, so no need. Another short will probably blow it, so you will know where to look next time.

Final check, track was blown, but amp was still playing. Bridged it and everything was fine again. See result! Thanks for everything, couldn't have done it without your guidance. Hope it will hold.

Great, amp has probably had an easy life, leave them be.

If the voltage is adjustable then it's a variac. I use a cheapie from our good friends(?) in china,

This Thread is clearly a case of mistaken identity. It should have been titled EVERYTHING ANYONE WOULD WANT TO KNOW ABOUT A CA-1000!
Should anyone have a question and/or post a Thread in regard to the CA-1000 it would be of great assistance to refer them to this Thread. Sure would save a massive amount of brain damage for all parties.
