'60 was a great year for Caddies. Still had the big fins, but they were perfectly integrated into the body lines.
When I was at Sheppard AFB, one of the civilian avionics instructors had a 73 Eldorado. I used to stop 'n gawk all the time. It was beautiful. Even had 500 C.I. of emissions-neutered power.

The 1960 Cadillac was a brilliant re-style of the '59 and some went so far to say it was the best looking car the marque had ever produced (at the time). Cadillac styling designer Dave Holls, who was responsible for both the '59 and '60 Cadillac fins said the 1960 was his personal favorite when interviewed in the late '80s. The '59 model was really a reaction to the new '57 Chrysler "Forward Look" Chryslers and Cadillac was not about to allow the challenge go unanswered. The original '59 Cadillac designs which had already been completed, all had to be scrapped and begun again from scratch in an amazing interval of two(!) years from drawing board to production- all before the age of computer aided design.

This is the only pic I have of my baby. The only car I've owned that I truly loved. I had to give her up in 1990 when I moved to Brooklyn because she was too big to park, but she and I had three beautiful years together.
