Hey Z, I was sending somebody thisaway and thought the first post could use a little sprucing up. Could you add titles to those links like "parts list" on the first, "crossover layout" on the 2nd, "baffle layout" on the 3rd, etc.? It would make it a little easier to find what you're looking for at a glance.

Nice job labelling, Zilch. Would it help to add the following or similar at the top of the first post?

"Summary of Lengthy Thread That Follows"

While we know these links were subsequently added to the first post, their location on the first post might suggest they are links to other threads instead of links to posts buried in the thread that follows. (You know me, I'm always fixing that which isn't broken.)

BTW, what grilles would you recommend for my Indignias? While I like 'em nekkid, moving them is rather worrisome.

I'm using the factory grilles. Magnets are imbedded in the grille frames:

They don't grab very hard on screw heads, though. If you want protection for moving, something more secure might be better. You could imbed magnets in the baffles, too, maybe. PE has those in their flyers from time to time.

Well, now that the whole hurricane Ike chapter has concluded for us (we were REALLY lucky) I'm in the mood to finish up this Indignia project. So what sort of store has this clay, Ray?

I have already added Indignia 3.5 to my gear-list signature. Is that cool before getting my serial numbers? :D

New developments to report (Sneak preview of a group buy)

I'm currently working out some details with Parts Express regarding a group buy for the parts to build some Indignia's and I think you guys may be very happy with the way things are going.

In regards to some of the posts going around about building cabinets, I have made some prototype baffles that came out as well as I could have hoped and have a plan on how to make them quickly.

After building them, buying the parts to make them, and figuring on wear (MDF kills cutting tools), I came up with some pricing. I will refrain from posting exact details until I hear from Dan (Celt) or one of the Admins about group buy policies.

That said, the pricing from PE might end up enticing enough to not bother with doing the bare MDF stuff.

Ed? So this was your idea? I just picked up some modeling clay... wondering how it worked out for you and if you had any trouble attaching to the sides of the cab. Did you cover the whole panel with it or just center a block if it and attach it?
 
There was a crusty old curmudgeon on a mailing list Newman and I were on a few years ago named Ed Heath. He advocated this method quite vocally. I tried it once and it worked pretty well for me.

Try to cover the entire panel, about 1/4" thick. I didn't have trouble getting it to stick. If you really want to break up reflections in the box then take a ball pien hammer or something similar and "golf ball" the clay.
