Just wondering which Altec 15" L.F. driver performs best in the vott cabinets. is it the 515, 416, 803, and im talking about home stereo use? What do you guys think? :scratch2:
IME when used in an 825 cabinet the 416 has the deeper bass but the 515B has a more "real" midrange. The 803A doesn't go as deep as the 416 but for some reason sounds VERY realistic reproducing well recorded electric bass.

Iwonder if i can squeeze some more bottom end out of the 515, with a little cabinet tuning, You're right the 515 does shine in the midrange department. So if the larger format 515B was coupled with a 288, that sounds like a midrange heavy vott. especially crossed at 500hz.
