Am I screwed?

I listed a Adcom GFA 6000 on the fle-bay and leave an option for best offer, someone made an offer and I accepted, without thinking I mailed it the next morning. Now I realized that the bidder didn't pay yet! Its been 5 days and I tried contacting the buyer, but no replies. What do you guys think?

Maybe the guy's honest, & will make good... Believe it or nutz, some people still are today...

I hate to say it, but I don't know what recourse you'd have against the buyer if he or she did not pay. However, that's just a guess. I have no experience on this terra infirma. Sorry!

Has the item been delivered yet? I just remembered, with some shippers it is possible to get them to call an item back if they haven't delivered it yet. Just some vague recollection, I don't recall specifically.

The buyer may pay after receiving and inspecting the Adcom. When I bought my Sound Technology test gear from Nakdoc, he shipped the ST 1701A & St 1000A without waiting for payment. I mailed a check as soon as I opened the boxes. Thought that was very nice of him to do that. Perhaps the buyer of your gear thinks the same and sends payment in full.
Hope you have the same success.

Check the buyers feedback score....it will give a footprint in whether the buyer is legit or not. If this buyer doesn't pay in two days....email him and tell him you will have to file a claim....and do it if he doesn't get back to you or pays. Good luck.

if the buyer doesn't pay for five days and does not reply to messages, 90% chance that you are indeed screwed. did the buyer make winning bid at the last minute or was the bid placed earlier? if the buyer was actively involved in bidding, and now not responding, that's a bad sign. otherwise, he/she might be away. it's true that there are still honest people out there, but in my short experience of selling on ebay, i had seen mostly dark side of people unfortunately. hope you're dealing with a better buyer.

I use E-bay shipping which should have confirmation. I should check, but I think he got the amp already and is his call on paying or not.

If you haven't done so send the buyer an invoice.

The buyer committed. You shipped with delivery conformation / tracking. IMO odds are you are NOT screwed.

FWIW, I use ebay to buy and print shipping labels. One nice thing about that is it will warn you if you try to print prior to payment it will warn you. On the other hand if an invoice is sent it will let you print shipping regardless of whether payment has been received or not.

It's not really his call. Seller committed. Seller owes you. That's the way eBay or any auction works.

Check and make sure that it was delivered.

FYI : If you've used E-bay shipping you should have gotten a warning for trying to print a shipping label without payment reveived yet.

I did send him an invoice right after I accepted the offer and I tried to check on the tracking, but it says check back later.

I almost did that once. The auction was over and I went and printed a shipping label before I received payment. As soon as I did that I realized my mistake and called Paypal and cancelled the label and they refunded the money to my account. I don't remember seeing a warning that I hadn't received payment. Probably wasn't paying attention.
Hope you get your money.

Nope, still ask me to check later.

if the tracking system is telling you to "check back", then the package is not delivered yet. when the package is scanned at least once during the shipment (most packages get scanned at least 4-5 times), the tracking system will show that step. even usps parcel post gets scanned that many times.

Check the tracking # on the carrier's site.... actually you can just copy and paste
the tracking # into google and it'll usually find the correct tracking site to go to.
I'm saying this because the problem retrieving the info may be on ebay's side.
I've had to do this before. Who did you ship with?

You May have leverage even through ebay (legally) . While I hope you don't have to go down that road. That is a legally binding contract. I don't know but crossing state lines could even make it a federal issue. I suspect you won't have a problem there's always small claims court. Taking merchandise without payment is theft or in this case at least breach of contract.
