One type of my Boatanchors- a 1935 RCA AR-60- was reputed to have picked up one of Amelia's last transmissions. Not my example, but one of its brothers. Mine is a "deluxe" version-it has German silver dials & a 2-tone grey cabinet- & it cost a whopping $495 in '35, when you could buy a new Ford V-8 for $650.There were only 2-300 of them made, there are maybe a dozen left. I personally think Fred & Amelia either ran out of gas, landed in the Pacific & drownded, or landed on some island, were captured & executed by the Japanese as spies...
