Cool! But, between the (I assume?)rotation of the tapes drum, and track switching, it must have made a lot of noise...

I kind of like the industrial clunnking sound, one of the reasons I own a mechanical pinball, you can't help but love hearing all of those parts moving.
 
Reason #5 why I got a 10" open reel.....

It only clunked when it auto reversed.....otherwise was smoooooooooooooooooth sound.
