Another Bose 901 restoration thread

I don't know if all the models do that i have the series IV now at home, the ones that my dad have now are series V they do take off i paint them also let me see if i can get pics of his home theater and put them here so you can see the color that i gave those, the series VI the ones that I did last i had to, they were on a patio a friend of mine had them and they got wet, so i had to do some sanding and then paint them.

i did them a looong time ago that is why i dont have the pictures of the proces, when i do the series IV i will take some pictures and put them here, i am alson restoring some JBL's i will put them on diferent forum here
 
Please, if you're going to post pictures of your rebuilds, please start another thread. You see how the title of mine is "Another Bose 901 restoration thread"? That's because there already was one, and I decided out of courtesy not to turn it into my thread.

I've got a pair of V's myself. They are my favorite of all the series. I like the aluminum side panels. You are doing such a nice job you may want to start your own thread with your additional work. Keep up the good work!
 
Old tread, but my new problem. I have a gap between plastic box and top wooden (veneered) board and I need to take of the boards to sort problem. How to remove boards from plastic box? My 901's series VI have aluminum sides anyone knows more about this type 901? Horns are it looks like melted inside to and I cut from back horn to straighten plastic.

I know it's a zombie thread, but you did an awesome job on those 901s there Lee. Those are gorgeous.

Just picked up two pairs of 901 IVs (one speaker with severe drop damage to the wood at the pointy part of the "V"). Like yours, they are in desperate need of refoaming. Great job on your rebuild and thanks for the detailed pics and commentary!
