Anti skate

I just bought one of those grove less record's for setting the anti skate 25.00 on Amazon should be here in a week. It gets great reviews at taking the guess work out of setting the anti skate, anyone used one of those.

You bought a blank 12" for $25? You do know vinyl is basically plastic - right? Too bad you didn't ask before. If you insist on a blank groove, the dollar bins are usually full of singles that no body wants with one blank side. Anyhow... The blank groove method of setting anti skate gives you, at best, a good starting point for correct settings with a test record. The 'tonearm stays put' method is just another goofy myth that probably dates back to Thomas Edison days. Don't even get me started about the insignificance of analog gear and accessories reviews on Amazon.

I use a laser disc to set my anti-skate. I got a couple of them for $1.00 at the thrift store. They seem to work well.
