Anyone done a project powered by an octet of EL84/7189?

Would using an octet of el84/7189/6p14p in a stereo power amp be a way of keeping that 'small bottle' sound while providing more low end thump or is the concept flawed?

My Cary Audio SLA-30 is just that, 2 quads of EL84's. It's a great amp and sounds fantastic.

The Eico HF-30 runs a quad. The Manley Stringray runs two quads. :yes:

Great concept... The reduced output transformer turns ratio reduces leakage inductance geometrically, which can make a major contribution to amp performance if the designer takes advantage of it.
