From an entry level "all in one" system. Very similar to some marketed under the Montgomery Ward Airline brand.
Looks like it huh? But the woodwork don't match. I know of the one you're thinking about. Nice!

The driver complement is pretty pedestrian, so I wouldn't expect more than mid-fi sound, although they do look nice! (lol)
It's too bad a picture of the back isn't shown with an identification plate or label as I'm curious whether these were made in the US or Japan? The drivers look like they could have been sourced from either CTS or from Foster. Hmmm...

Yeah, at first glance I saw the CTS similarity too. But when I got closer in, the surrounds didn't look right. It's not what I have in my small hoarde. I would take them home though, just to see.

modded "vintage-like" cabinets with EPI 150 speakers
I modified these cabinets and installed the inverted tweeters and 8" woofers I removed from some Epicure EPI 150s that I completely renovated inside and out. I re-foamed the woofers, but the tweeters were still sounding great so I found these "vintage- looking" speaker boxes, modded them to accept the EPI speakers. The enclosure volume is on the small side for 8" woofers, but they sure do sound good. I lightly sanded the cabinets and then put a couple of coats of wipe-on polyurethane.
I even put in some of the original EPI crossovers, and that's why the backs look different now than what was there... see the additional pics attached. What was originally on the back was just a pair of screw terminals (+ & -) and an RCA female jack.
Do you think these would be sellable on eBay?
