I've done 6-7 commissions now, and the extra cash is great because it gets blown pretty quickly on more audio toys for upgrades, or repairs for other gear I don't have the knowledge to do! Just spreading the wealth!
I wouldn't mind a couple of these a month, I really enjoy the process, I'm in the cave, so I get to hear my systems and tunes, and the best part is bringing these old beauties back to their former glory! Love it!

I love it, too. Besides my current build, I have a pair of Heresies that a friend needs veneer replaced, not to mention his reel to reel that I have to service. Unfortunately, my other duties keep me from having fun all the time!

I started on these a couple weeks ago, figured I'd wait to post the thread once I was near completion.
I like to get these done as quickly as possible for the client, as I know I want my gear back asap when out for repairs.

Nice job......I know the time you put into them. Hope the customer likes them and can enjoy them again. They looked to have been almost abused......

I think they were in storage for a while. It's apparent the owner listened and maintained them up to a point, with the replacement woofer and L-pads. At least no moisture damage!

Great work as always Glenn, seeing what you do never ceases to amaze me. When I saw the damage to that corner I really wondered how you were going to tackle it but, as usual, you have a way of making that kind of stuff disappear. It's really an art!

I attribute these skills to building R/C model airplanes for 20 plus years. Very intricate building. Thanks Dad for getting me into that hobby!

I enjoy showing the process. A lot of vintage AKers have seen this before, but the newly minted AKers most likely haven't. So it can help them with their projects down the line.
