This may be helpful. I grabbed some of the Phila Repair shop discussions a while back. They cover the surrounding area. There are also some guys on the board that might offer to service the unit if they knew a bit about the issue(s), or as stated above maybe it is something that the AK group can guide you through, if you have the time and less than ten thumbs.

Well it seems to be an intermitent issue. I recieved it last tuesday and everything was fine. I played it about 3 hours that night. Then this morning i turned it on only the right channel was working there was a pop noise and the left channel came on but much lower than the right side. ( this is a 2250b Marantz). I then hooked up my speakers to my 2230 just to make sure it was not a speaker issue. The 2230 played fine. I tryed the 2250b again and it was fine. I think it may be best to have a pro look at it so i dont do any damage. Thanks Scott

It could just be dirty switches. Press them individually which will clean them and could solve the problem. I thought a could of times I had lost a channel in my pioneer sx1050. Once time the stereo mono switch was dirty. Another time it was the phono input switch. Moving the switches cleaned them and solved the problem.

Have you tried deox on all the buttons & switches? Intermittent channel dropouts are usually attributed to dirty pots, switches and push buttons. YUP! I was typing and "jeffpaletz" already beat me too it! :D

http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=207005 is the how to for cleaning the switches and such in general for gear. There are cleaning instructions for the Marantz switches in that forum if you need them.

But as the guys have said, turn off the 2250b and operate all the switches dozens and dozens of times. Then give it a try. If that did help, a deoxit bath might be in order and many report better sound quality after doing that.

If you are not up to that, some folks close by might respond to an offer of beer. These guys like pictures, too. Just can't explain it.

Ok guys i will go to radio shack and get a can of deoxit and give it a try. I will post my results and thanks guys for the help.

Radioshack won't have the stuff you need. GUITAR CENTER has the Deoxit D-5 and F-5 you need for the pots and switches. The Ratshack stuff is more for TV Tuners.
