Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB Troubleshooting - new turntable is playing at only 30% volume

Newbie here. I would appreciate your help. I'm having trouble with low volume on my turntable.

Today I purchased the AT-LP120-USB turntable and I'm new to vinyl. For years now I have used my iPad plugged into my old Onkyo receiver and it plays at very loud and crisp.

I carefully assembled my turntable and calibrated the tone arm assembly and tracking according to instructions that I found on youtube. I'm satisfied that I have assembled, balanced, and calibrated the turntable correctly.

My input is going to the TAPE input on the back of my old Onkyo receiver.

Volume is about 25% of what I expect at the highest volume on my receiver.

Please advise.

Problem solved. There is a "Phono-line" switch on the back to use regular output or lower output for Phono line-in.

If your Onkyo receiver has phono input--a lot of them do--you might want to turn off the internal phono stage on the AT and listen to the turntable played through the Onkyo's phono stage, assuming it has one.
Differences in phono stages are usually easy to hear and the one in the Onkyo might be better than the AT's internal stage.
Of course, start doing things like this you'll end up as warped as I am.

My Onkyo receiver is for Home Theater. It has leads for CD, DVD, TAPE, and TUNER. No PHONO lead. I'm just happy that I don't have to buy an amp to allow my turntable function properly.

Make sure the switch on the back of the turntable is set to LINE. Maybe you accidentally bumped it while you were working on the turntable.
