Azimuth Adjustment for the rest of us?

Okay, How do you tell someone your just too obtuse to understand?
Thank you sir, I know you've been very patient with me and I appreciate that but, I'm afraid I'll have to do it the ole fashion way,
using my eyes and ears to determine whether it's right or not.

i use audacity to record the output from my preamp and there is analyze function in audacity to contrast the db level of left and right channel. In this test, I use a 1khz track on the test record, which should have equal output on both channels.
Before the test, also make sure the preamp has balanced left/right channel amplification by giving it a mono digital line input for reference.

I've used five test records to check azimuth and crosstalk, and the only test record of these that can be used reliably is the Ortofon. Cardas, HFN, UA, TACET were tested and although they all contain good and interesting tracks the left-right 1 kHz test tone was best recorded on the Ortofon.
