B&O S75 replacement tweeter

A tweeter went out on my B&O S75 speakers.
Is there an easy way to test the tweeter, to decide if it is bad or a problem with the crossover?

If I need to replace it, what are my options?

The two easiest ways to test a tweeter involve removing it from the cabinet and A.) Testing it's resistance with a multi-meter to see if you get the specified ohm reading and hear a scratching noise from the tweeter, or B.) Feed the tweeter a very, very low volume signal from your receiver with the bass control turned all the way down and the treble control turned all the way up. At a really, really low volume level hold the tweeter next to your ear and hear if any sound is coming out. As long as you keep the volume set at a whisper level the tweeter will not be harmed. If the tweeter plays fine, then the problem is in the cross-over or wiring within the cabinet and is most likely that capacitor in the tweeter circuit.

B&O used off the shelf tweeters from sources like Philips and SEAS, so if you read the part number off the back you should be able to find an exact replacement on FleaBay if the tweeter is indeed burned out. The one thing to be careful of is that B&O was notorious for using 4 ohm rated versions of the drivers utilized whereas the vast majority of speaker makers using these drivers used the 8 ohm rated versions, so check the rated resistance of the B&O spec tweeter before looking for a replacement.
