Saw a picture of a columbia (columbia records) set almost identical esp. the control panel maybe it was an older thread here .

Columbia purchased Bell & Howell while this unit was in production..

That is a looker! I hope that the seller posts more photos. Wonder how it sounds...

They don't sound great when compared to an Ampex, Stromberg Carlson, or a Fisher, but this was a styling exercise, and at that, it is a smashing success.

Paul McCobb was a pretty well-known and certainly a prolific designer of MCM (Mid Century Modern) furniture and the like.

I grew up with some of his designs, my father, a recovering architect (his phrase, not mine) was an early fan.
