best James Bond movie

Been thinking bout this "best" 007 series of movies, and can't really come up with the ultimate Bond production.

Each had it's different flavour that I savoured. The different castings, plots all had their strengths and weaknesses. Would like to have had a serious "sit-down" with Fleming who started this whole "Big Screen affair.

All had their special effects, fast moving plots, along with the eye-candy that James had to deal with, in his appropriate way.

With the first 10 movies grossing well over $1 billion, and the last effort over $775 million worldwide, the series was more than successful.

But at to being able to chose the best of the lot...just can't do.

And is James now gone for good? DEAD? Check out the "title" of the last movie and the "end credits.

I remember going to the cinema in the 60s and 70s to see the latest Bond film. Sean Connery was always my favorite. The George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton movies never appealed to me that much but I started to get interested again during the Roger Moore era. The Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig movies are also watchable but without watching every movie again my picks would go back to the early movies like Dr No, From Russia With Love, and Goldfinger.

Maybe it is time for a few mammoth binge watching sessions to watch all 27 films and rate each one in succession. Maybe accumulating the points in a spreadsheet for factors such as storyline, acting, music scores, location, cinematography, etc, then tally up the points to see if something stands out.

Well, I like Connery, and one of my favs is "You Only Live Twice". Sean becoming japanese is a hoot, as are the ninjas on ropes in the volcano ...
I even have a Corgi model of "Little Nellie" the suitcase gyrocopter in the film.
I have so far resisted the urge to hang her on fishing line from the ceiling ... but sooo tempted!

Goldfinger’s my favorite but a close runner-up is You Only Live Twice, love Little Nellie and especially the theme song, so beautiful!

It would be Thunderbolt, but any of the Sean Connery Bond films were great. . Saw it when I was 9 years old with my older brother at the matinee for 50 cents .

Goldfinger & the Aston Martin are classic. I really like Skyfall but the ballbashing scene was pretty corny.
The Scotland sequence was thrilling the first time I saw it.
I liked DC almost as much as the REAL James Bond (SC).

On Her Majesty's Secret Service and You Only Live Twice. I watched something on youtube and apparently George Lazenby was offered a seven movie Bond contract after OHMSS but turned it down. His agent thought he could do better.

Lots of love for Connery here.

Very cool.

But I'll nominate "Live And Let Die" with Moore.

Nice early 70's "wak-a-chick-a" in places.

McCartney soundtrack.

Jane Seymore.

The "Don't you feel good about ....hahahaha...7 up?" guy.

Boat jump record.

Daniel Craig's Skyfall and Spectre ... his last No Time To Die is pretty good too. I don't like the older movies much, the bad guys and their gadgets are too comical, but Sean Connery was still good.
