'The Spy Who Loved Me' is my favourite. Saw that at the cinema when it came out, back when they had a screen that was fifty foot wide.
Maybe not a popular choice for the best but it has almost everything from every previous film - ski chase, fight on the train, crazy villain lair, car chase with helicopter, big gunfight at the end, and so on. Plus the best production values up to that point.
Also my favourite theme song although 'You Only Live Twice' is a close second.
The last good one was 'For Your Eyes Only', since then I can take it or leave it. Although 'Goldeneye' has its moments.
Craig-era was very disappointing. He's good - the stories, dialogue and directing are not.
Connery was my favourite in the role of Bond.
