Best japanese Speakers?

@John

you have a pair of SS-G77 ES speakers??

WOW they are ultra rare and I think I would take a pair if the possibility woul come

I said I wanted a pair (but who wouldn't?). I have the SS-m7s, which are good enough for me to have stopped being a speaker collector and start being a speaker-giver.

oh ok sorry I had read it wrong.

In yahoo auction Japan is a pair of 777ES for sale, but I think without Yahoo ID and contacts it is impossible to purchase in Japan

IMO, best Japanese speakers, hands down- 1975-77 Kenwood Model Sevens. Retailed for $2500+/per pair. My pair, even slightly crippled as they are, still sound as detailed, clear, sharp, tight, quick, and accurate as a true live performance! So much so that they were hailed at the time of their introduction by Audio Magazine as the most accurate speaker they ever tested, creating an exact replica of original sound. :D

My choice by order of preference would be:

1. Yamaha Ns-1000
2. Diatone - any model but famous for a single washi paper, full range driver - P-610 (I believe)
3. Sony APM's - models APM-6, APM-8, APM-77, APM-9 (Good luck with the nine's - very, very rare)

Good Luck to you.

Here's a pair on Japan's Yahoo Auctions site: http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/122630385

Looks like a little under $2,000USD.

If they go for anywhere near that, that's a bargain IMHO, at least compared to what something like that would cost today, if they could even be made today for any sort of reasonable price. The build quality of those looks fantastic. I'd be curious to know how they stand up to the SS-M7, as much of what I like about those is how they disappear. They act like giant standmount monitors, whereas these have a totally different approach.

I think too Kenwoods Model 7 is very fine I search for a pair since years but you can mean it was never built so rare it is.

Technics SB-M10000 is probably in the discussion

I ask because I want buy a pair of Diatone or other Japanese Speakers perhaps in future

And I need help with it, I can't speak Japanese language and translating programms don't work correctly in the registration formulars by yahoo

Yamaha NS-1000M, NS-1000, NS-2000, NS-10000, NS-500M all have Be drivers which makes them tops in my book. I think Pioneer also had a Be driver equipped speaker but I can't remember the model number. Agreed with the other members, Diatone gets honorable mention. Sony's SS-9 and SS-7 deserve consideration and IMO are the only serious speakers Sony ever made.

Technics SB-1000. Sold in Germany by the PX/BX. One of the best speakers ever made irregardless of country of origin.
