Some day it will look more like this one

My 3.5 year old daughter has been helping me with disassembly and cleaning... and she wants it blue. I'm thinking of painting it 1963 Corvette Daytona Blue

i liked the ty 175 . that thing would go anywhere . very agile for what it was .

I've never rode a TY, very cool looking bikes though. The 175 is a screamer. My first bike was a CT2 or 3 175 converted to an MX with plastic tanks and fenders... I bought a ghost of a 1971 CT1C that I am in the process of turning into a mirror polished, 30HP, sub 200lbs, mostly street bike. Stage 2 porting, MX close ratio gears, aftermarket high compression head, Hooker expansion chamber, custom paint (orange metallic frame, flat dark brown tanks and rear fender, light blue accents), custom leather seat, 12v CDI, LED retrofit, etc, etc, etc.

here is what it looked like when I dragged it home...

and a hint to the type of stuff I'm doing to anything aluminum

Yes James, mine was a 68.Even though I never owned one I use to play with myself to pictures of bultaco, montessa etc enduros.Due to injuries and knee replacements if I was ever to ride again it would be a brp spyder f3 or a old fart bike like a ultra glide. Most likely a spyder as it would be the safest for me and the unrealiable knees and their still a fun ride just different.

Meh,all you guys with your ''petite'' little Japanese two-stroke dirt bikes. I have one of these buried in the garage awaiting a rebuild; If you think you're a trail-basher,try doing it on this: 1960 Matchless G80 TCS (Typhoon Competition ). 600cc,10 to 1 cr,1 3/8'' Amal GP carb,Lucas Competition magneto. My leg hurts just remembering kicking this beast!

Kinda weird and not necessarily "Best Looking" but my old 1973 TR7RV 750 Trophy twin Triumph (in a '67 650 frame) - circa 1976 or so ...
Got rid of the poor handling "oiler" frame, swapped in a BSA 441 Victor polished aluminum gas tank -
I later put a Preston Petty high-mounted front fender in place and dumped the heavy chrome fender.

Such a fun cowtrailing bike, tho the 2 stroke dirt crowd always had a hoot when I came tearing down the trail ...

I like the looks of my 1974 CB750K4. Just finishing up some winter maintenance on it yesterday and the clutch cable snaps. Fortunately parts are still readily available so I ordered a genuine Honda cable. Bob

Sorry about the wear and tear... I'm not interested in cruising or racing, just lazy back road rides. I'm 8.5 miles from the office and I can make my way without highway and live at the north end of the Pine Barons so there are plenty of sandy dirt roads.

Back in the day, I had a buddy with an early 80s Husqvarna WR430... meanest scariest bike on the hill. We all wanted that bike! Everything else local was Yamaha or Honda... nothing exotic outside of the magazines.

a Preston Petty high-mounted front fender

I've got one of those on my CT1C. 21" front rim, NOS Redwing Hammerhead shocks, Webco aluminum skid plate & fork brace... whole mess of period correct aftermarket stuff collected.

I raced this Harley 1978 MX250 for a year. In a straight line nothing could beat it. Once you hit the whoops or corners it was HANG ON because it didn't like being controlled.

The one I lusted after though was this one - KZ900 - the beginning of the Superbikes!

Way back in that day, I had a '69 Suzuki 350...but always thought the Triumph Bonneville 650 was the classiest bike around.

In '77 we restored a '71 Bonneville 650 and made a Silver Jubilee, I don't remember what side covers we used (one of a thousand or limited edition) but it looked very close to the real one unless you knew them. Thought it was a nice simple bike without a lot of extra add ons

I also had a modified KH400 / H2 combo, the KH was supposed to handle better than the H 1,2, and 3's, the 750 H2 engine had more power together they were supposed to be a great bike,I don't know, It was a scary fast wheelie machine. It was fun smoking 750's with a bike that said it was a 400. I always said it was a stock 400, the chambered exhaust was the difference
