Best Looking Receiver of all Time

No eye candy handy as my old iPad died and nothing was backed up. But...I tend to agree. Though I still prefer the look of the JVC.

@Mr Derph , is that HK 230 an FM only receiver or FM/AM? I remember one looking exactly like yours from about 1970, thinking it was a Model 220 and FM only...

No, they work and sound fantastic. I’ve got beyond way too much gear it’s not even funny. I’m also in between places. Soon enough I will see if the A-910 can do justice to the 600W Carver Amazing Silver MK4. A test I am really looking forward to!

I’d like to sell one or the other to justify another amp purchase as they sound identical to me. I got the A-910 (serial number 7) first then had to have its little brother. They truly do sound fantastic and are a step up in sound from the R-661. There is some insane Russian Kyo collector who has like 2 or more of everything they ever made who said he could not tell a difference in sound bw the A-910 and the Kyo separates. I waited patiently for 3 or so years for one to show up then just so happened to log on within 30 min of it being listed and jumped on it. That was nearly 10 years ago.

It is also possible I may use the pre section of one of them, along with the remote controlled TVC I will eventually be getting to feed Innersound monos (750W) to power the Carvers (600W). The phono pre is especially nice sounding and flexible.

That's how I found my PL-601, although lately they've been popping up on eBay. Wish my budget allowed for more gear. I like Carver as well.

Is is am/fm. The cool thing about this, is it has a separate tuning display for am and fm.

Maybe not THE best looking receiver of all time... But I am highly attracted to my Realistic STA-77A with the yellow and orange lighting, as well as the very nice touches of red, especially the FM signal thing thay lights up when the FM signal is good.

My entirely impartial vote goes to the Pioneer SX-5590, but there are plenty of really lovely receivers from the late '70s. That's part of why we're here after all, right?? I love seeing all these.
