Best Looking Receiver of all Time

Almost any Braun CEV / Regie series (not sold in the US):

Desperately looking to find one!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but a good majority of the receivers from the mid 1970's to early 1980's are all worthy candidates in my book.

Some of my favorite designs are the Pioneer SX-1250/1980, Optonica SA-5601/5901 (incredibly hard to find pieces, sadly), and the Sansui Gx000 series.

I'm also a huge fan of the styling (and sound!) of anything Akai from that period - perhaps even more so of their tape decks and seperates, but the AA-1050 and AA-1200 are fine looking receivers indeed.

While a bit more than just a Stereo Receiver (AV), I have always liked the Nakamichi AV-1 (used to own one, my brother owns it now). They were very well built.

Hey Tom. That pink radio was a gift from my God father who was the sales manager for CKLW keener 13!

I got it on my 7th birthday. I fell asleep every night listening to that thing.

Thanks for the link. I'll watch it.

Edit. I just watched the trailer and it pointed out that Keener 13 was a different station. I've had in wrong for years.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would imagine over time most receivers will eventually get posted in here.

That was a buzz kill...

I have a tube radio that I'm going to post and a new Kenny that I found about a year ago. Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder, but that's - really - the point of the thread. I love the pics that guys post. Plus, it's a time capsule thread. Post at will, I say.

Exactly what I said.... Not being negative
As long as you think your receiver is a beauty. Then post.
The reason why you post is because you like what you have and want to show it off. It doesn't mean I have to agree that I find your receiver beautiful or ugly.
I appreciate the trouble someone goes through to refurbish a peice and post.

All those pretty thingies.. There was an Akai AA-1200 somewhere in the list, but I'd go for the little sister: the AA-1030. Such spectacular, functional, perfectly balanced, clean, flat-out sexy design! Seeing it tune-in with those big, slow meters swirling to the perfect position, first the tuning, then the signal, stereo led coming in, and then the AFC; what a feast! And all that for only a few pennies.. (okay, the LED modification might be a bit of a cheat).

Even smaller, there is also the AA-1015, sort of nicer version of the AA1010. Can't forget to mention the AA-1175 then. I suppose I got a soft spot for the Akai's, but pretty much anything 70s with a shiny silver face plate does it for me.
