And with all these inexpensive acquisitions why are some of the prices in BT so over the top?

When does thrift store price equal market value? If that were the case, there would be no point in thrifting. Plus, all but the Spicas and the ADS required some level of restoration. There is value in that as well.

True, none of my speakers except the Sansuis needed repair, although not as good deals as some on here, I still did do OK. Like I said before, anything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Unrelated to this topic, I picked up a decent Sony A/V receiver at SA couple days ago for $10, works perfectly! 2 weeks before that they were selling some CV speakers for $100, makes no sense! Market value indicates they are worth roughly the same!
I did manage to haggle the speakers down to $50, but still, where's the logic in the pricing!

Picked up a pair of JPW Gold Monitors in local charity shop for £10, and they are in very good shape :-)

Original Advents free at hamfest, new foam kit 20.00, couple bucks for xover caps... refinished cabs with minwax antique oil I had on hand, grill cloth is in excellent condition... Got em fired up right now!!!

1 pair L300 Summits, $500. A friend got disgusted with his bar room, sold the moveables out of it and I got the JBL's...I know, best sub $100 score, but I thought this one was good enough to mention

We'll save that for the $101-$500 scores!

Philips - MFB 532 free
Vandersteen 2c free curbside pick
JBL L100 century 50.00
JBL L46 did a barter favor.
JBL L26 Curbside, needed woofs foamed (29.00)
ADS L620 free, curbside pick
Marantz 940 - free also, I wasn't even looking for any of these. Just pure luck.
Infinity - RSb - traded for some Sansui speakers that I found.

One would think that there could be some spreading of the karma.

Sure get a price for the speakers but if they did not require any work and you don't need the money to eat, then sell em for a bit under the bay prices instead of at or above. Generalization there but that is the thought. Maybe some of the expensive speakers on BT required hours and hours of work which has value to the point of exceeding typical used pricing.
