Best way to add a subwoofer without a sub out

FWIW... Polk is selling their PSW10 powered sub for $80 shipped on the 'bay. That's all you need.

I just ordered one for my rear channels.

Do you guys have any recommendations for my system? Should I get a 10 inch or 12 inch? Not looking to rattle my walls just want a bit more bass extension and a bit more impact on kick drums. Setup is usually in a small room but sometimes in a medium sized room.

Decide what extension you want, and at what dB, and look for subs. To do it decently you need to cut wherever your main speakers are down 6dB, but always stay under 70 so the sub cannot be "located". Look into how to place it so it it doens't just add a "boom boom".

Nothing wrong with using the speaker level inputs on your subwoofer (if it has them) and then from this to your main speakers. Most subwoofers have filtering inside to reduce the amount of low frequencies going to the main speakers. After all, you're using a sub for those now.

Lee.
