Beveridge Model 3 - Restore

It has been a few years now and I thought I would provide an update to this thread.

Since getting these restored, they are still the king of speakers in my setup. When I want to hear the best possible music, the Model 3's get the playing time. Admittedly, there are some combinations I want to try, such as using tubes with my Altec Big Reds (coming soon), but with a good source, the hair still stands up on my arm when I listen to the Model 3's. They just don't get old.

There are some other projects in the works, Infinity Quantums, Fraziers, etc. and my listening room that once done, will allow me to do some real head to head battles, so I am looking forward to it. When I do, I'll follow this up with another post.
I love this post. A friend has the Model 2. I don't always get to listen to them when I visit, depending on speaker rotation of the day, but usually do. They are incredible speakers. I'd need a different house for those. But boy if I stumbled on a pair cheap (like that will ever happen) I'd snag them and put them in storage till I had a place for them or rearrange things (so how) to accommodate them.

Very nice work!

The only bad part at the moment, the Model 5's don't get any play time. They sit next to the Model 3's, but I plan to move them to the new audio room when it gets done (eventually), so I will have a set of Bev's in two different rooms. The audio room will be in a separate building, so the Model 3's will stay in the house and the 5's will go to the audio room which will also double as the home theater. I am hoping to get good play time out there, but I feel most likely, I will still use the living room system more often, so that is where the 3's will reside. It will also give me room to try out other sets in the setup, like the Ohm I's.

Audio Fan, do you remember what album and song from the Allman Bros band that sounded so good? I'm slowly picking up all of there albums as I was a real fan of them when I was a lot younger.
I just picked up a mint set of Carver Amazing Plat's with the 60 inch ribbons and they are the same way. Some music is better played on less reveling speakers.
My brother is a guitar player who's major influence when he was young were the Allman Brothers. Next time he is in town, I'd like to play that song for him.
Thanks and very nice restore job. I'd love to listen to them.

Well, away from home at the moment. It is the first track and is all acoustic. Album may be "Idlewild"? I'll check when I get back home.
