I just picked up a KR-9000GX a couple weeks ago - I actually like the aesthetics of the 9 a little more than the 11 (I like knobs vs. sliders), but that 11 looks like it's in great shape and that's a price worth the investment. If I was closer and was looking to add to the collection, I'd bring that one on board with open arms. Love the sound of my 9, but of course, I'm a Kenwood guy.

I never liked Kenwoods much before I really started digging into vintage audio gear, and now they are among my favorites. There's sort of a cutoff date for the quality stuff, but I'm pretty sure I'd trade both my kids (or at least the 2 year-old) for that KR-9000GX :drool:.

I am eight hours drive each way and I am tempted. Just too much going on to do this right now.

BTW -I have never seen a kenwood with the timer where the timer wasn't busted. The plastic coupling deteriorates with time. I have a very good fix that is fairly simple to do. If anyone wants to know how, just pm me.

I gave my Nine G to my daughter for her birthday. I've also owned the Eleven G and the Eleven GX. Those two are 120 WPC so I wouldn't get my hopes up of hitting 200WPC. Otherwise they are fine sounding machines and that is a good price. P. I've had 6 Kenwoods with the timer and only one broke. There is a trick to keep from breaking them if you have one that is stiff to turn to reset.

DaWoofer - Elkhart huh? That's where I'm from -my dad sold Kenwood in the 70's - don't know the shop, but that's where my interest stems from. Parents still live there - I was just home over Christmas with the wife. It's rare to meet another Elkhart native in any circumstance from several states away, so, cheers to ya!

As far as the timer goes, I believe my trick to not breaking it will consist of not using it. It's worked so far.

Turn clockwise before attempting to turn it to Reset. :thmbsp:

Mark, my 10000III is not busted! And I've been inside of it to inspect it and it's not even slightly cracked, but if something were to happen to it, I will surely keep your trick in mind

I now have two eleven III and two kr6600. I love the looks of the kenny's. The sound of the eleven III can't be beat in my opinion -least I haven't herd better yet..

I had a clean eleven gx at one time with a working timer.Paid $50 with a set of kl777x speakers at a thrift.I chose to keep a kr 9400 instead and sold it.It was quite a looker and wish I had it now.
