Oppo 203. I love the 4K UHD display, uncompressed audio, and, I will, when I get a new receiver, I'll get Atmos.

I used to not think much of Atmos until I saw A24's recent 4k Blu-ray of Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense.

No blue ray here. No plans to purchase a blue ray. Have not really read about blue ray to know what blue ray is all about and I don't really care. Still getting used to DVD. can't stand wide screen, I still have VHS check out thrifts for full screen movies on VHS and now for fullscreen Dvd's. Does having blue ray mean I have to buy a new TV to recieve a blue ray disc signal after I bought a blue ray player and have to pay top dollar for a blue ray disc? I was"nt too happy with cable Tv let alone having to change over to digital. I was called an idiot for being hung up on records and not jumping on the never gonna scratch fantastic sounding CD bandwagon. I no longer buy new CD's shop those at the thrifts too. ( I will make an exception as I just got a dozen. The artist is an old friend) :scratch2: Rabbit ears and three channels was fine with me :D I feel better now. :D Let me go put a record on. :D :music:
I get the sense of where you're coming from, but Blu Ray, and 4K Blu Ray, are spectacular formats for the digital realm.

If you're way into that 4;3 aspect ratio, you should discover that most players allow you to select which video format you want the machine to deliver.

Blu Ray Audio, though, is fantastic!! It's completely uncompressed and blows the doors off audio delivered via DVD.

Who pays top dollar for Blu Rays? The format is 20+ years old. You can find cut rate Blu Rays wherever you shop for used vinyl.

Jovinyl is correct.
In the last two years my 10 year old TV
quit and the next month my 12 year old Yamaha AVR quit too. I purchased a 4K ATMOS TV and purchased a Denon AVR 4K ATMOS
I have a large collection of Blu-ray so I now purchase 4K ATMOS Blu-ray disc from eBay . Some sell on eBay the 4K ATMOS dics and keep 3D disc to recover cost. I had to purchase new 4K ATMOS Blu-ray disc player. Extremely happy without a doubt a 4K ATMOS Blu-ray disc is superior to Apple etc streaming 4K ATMOS programming.
