Bose 901 Continental Series in White?

my uncle gave me a pair of Bose 901 continental series speakers with equalizer in white. Can’t find anything on web as to whether this is a rare set or not. Any Bose owners out there?

rare, not really. what do you consider rare when it comes to regular production products? Less common, for sure. Most wanted wood colored speakers.

You could try and reach out to Bose and inquire for more specific information but I would agree with Blue Shadow; rare: no, uncommon: yes

Are they Series II (no ports, cloth surrounds), or a higher series (ports and foam surrounds)?

They were slow sellers so most dealers I knew would special order them when called for. The walnut finish was clearly the most popular. The black lacquered seemed to sell ok at the store where I worked.

As for what's rare, here's my equation:

Rare = (Unappealing cosmetics + high perceived cost to purchase) / (# of dealer/distribution channels - # of magazine reviews)

I have three pair of the walnut series II Continentals with chrome stands as they were the best looking 901 made...IMHO. In all the years I have looked and searched.....I have never seen the white. I say rare! Let's see some pics!...

I've never seen a white Rhino in the wild...or a white pair of Bose 901 speakers. Those Series II Continental cabs look pretty much like Series III and IV. But they're sealed and don't use foam surrounds, huh...interesting!

Hmm. I bought a new pair of Continental IIs in 1975 in walnut. Never knew they even offered white. Never even seen them advertised. Thanks for posting them.

Not a zoologist here but the black and white rhinos are both grey. The white Rhino got it's name mistranslated over eons of time. It's mouth is much wider than the Black Rhino's mouth and from wide got messed up w/ all the languages that are in South Africa. Remember every country w/ a navy wanted that country for both it's natural resources and that they could block any country from getting into the Indian Ocean and eventually the Pacific charge a toll of sorts and whaling rights also. I still have my '80s Marc Echo Rhino T-shirt...lol
