Brennan's Iron Law

Gordon's Laws of Speakers:

1. Must be flat from lower than you can hear to higher than you can hear, or it ain't worth s***.

2. Must be capable of dynamics that can literally rip your head off.

3. Must be capable of telling which foot the second violin player on the third row, is tapping, at any given time.

That's a good start, at least :D

Regards,
Gordon.

All of you have WAY, WAAAAAY too much time on your hands.

All kidding aside this is some funny ****, especially after a couple too many cocktails :lmao:

Some of the funniest stuff I've read here....We should ALWAYS be willing & able to laugh at ourselves a bit...

Powerman's:

  • That amp has less than 500w per channel? What is it for? Tweeters?
  • Why is that TV larger than your center channel?
  • I need bigger closets, these stacked L300s barely fit

Don't forget the AK Iron Laws:
  • Must be a "score"
  • Must need refoaming/recapping/refinishing
  • Not Bose
It's OK if they are BOSE as long as:
1. They are cheap
2. Nobody else knows
3. They will fit in the new storage area built because you are out of room in the 6 previous storage areas.

Kegger's Iron & Glass law:

1. Must be capable of being driven with tubes.
2. Has to fit somewhere in the proximity of Michigan
3. Must be capable of being driven with tubes and it looks like it might be a speaker.

I was working on Kegger, but I think you did a good job.

How about:

I found this strange tube, it's got a crossover, a pair of 300B triodes, and EQ built in and it's only 5 cents.

And the place that has them, has like 5,000 of them available.. and by the way, I don't know why everyone in the audio industry hasn't used this tube! It's NEVER been used for audio... I can't believe it.. In a minute and a half, I will have one rigged up on my bench.. if I can find my bench.. It was over here somewhere just before I brought that last load of gear in...

(Oh ****.. that last part fits me better than him..)

Cosmos:

  • What do you mean, cubicle walls? those are speakers!
  • I think I'm going to make a stack of KLH9s...should i call them KLH999s, or KLH27?
  • I need another workshop...

NOSValves:

In a loud boisterous voice:

  • **** *** **** the *** ****** **** ****!
  • these **** thing **** are ***!
  • ****!

1 Big enough to put you in the hospital
2 Draws enough power as they up the grid power
3 Able to make unwanted guests run:yes:

My avatar theme is simple....

whats the deal with the speakers in avatar analog addict, they look like they got playdoh on them?

Only the best in speakers, especially DIY repair jobs....:D

Analog Addicts Iron and AlNiCo Laws....

1) It must fit through some door into the house, and preferably have the words Altec, Klipsch, or Electro Voice somewhere on it...
2) Bigger is Better
3) If it has AlNiCo Magnets, or horns it must be good...

1st corollary - if the Wife hates it, then it must be really be something special!
2nd corollary - if the Wife loves it, it ain't stayin'!

HomerJSimpson's Iron Laws

1) Must be a speaker...
2) Must be a deal...
3) Must be stackable...
4) Grills, drivers, etc are optional....
5) Must be resistant to cat puke....:puke:

Great thread!....:lmao:

Liberty's Iron Laws

1-Heavy enough to make Dad grunt when he moves them where I want.
2-Have to be Altecs because Tom B & Mike know best.
3-Have to have grill covers because open faced speakers are so boyish.
