Bryston 3B SST ?

Researching for this thread, I took another look at the current Bryston line. If the sound of the 3B^3 is as improved as they say, it might be worth considering. The price of $4995 US is very competitive with the Parasound JC-1 monoblocks at $8990 and the Aragon 8008 at $5900.

Yes, I am looking around to see what is available.

Too much money. For $1500 you should get 4B SST. 3B SSTmodel should be close to $1000 to call it a reasonable deal. I am talking about US$ prices here. Canadian prices are greatly offset by original VAT added to new unit prices, so those who live there should comment.

FYI, in Canada there are no 4 B SST to be had for $1500. Cheapest I EVER tracked was $1850 but the others sold at up to $2250. The last 7 3B SST have gone for between $1600 and $1800.

Besides the Canadian dollar now being worth about .75 cents US, the US has 10X the population, generally lower tax rates and much more disposable income. A lot more high end gear was sold there so there is a lot more used high end audio gear floating around there which is reflected in the pricing. The kind of curbside finds, garage sale steals, Goodwill and general used bargains we read about on AK rarely happen here.

Well I picked them up tonight funny they were missing there feet found out both were rack mounted this makes for 10/10 cosmetics not a mark of any kind. Emailed Bryston about the missing feet took only an hour or so on a Sunday he asked for my address and they are shipping them to me nice! Not going to hook up till tomorrow things seem to dog me when I am tired and messing with the audio

Got the feet today shipped FedEx rush over night geez these guys are good. I called Bryston yesterday with a few questions, the rep had one for me he wanted to know if these were the ones on Canuck. He knew of them because there was a large number of calls to Bryston concerning these beauties he said a ton of calls. Guess for a change iuck I had the winning call

People interested to check more Bryston's prices, (with warranty from 16 to 19 years) should look at this place. Although it's in french, it's pretty well explanatory. Check under 'd'occasion' = opportunity in English.

It's like those French have a different word for everything!

Not exactly Raynald,
Raynald = Raynald Now you know...;)

Ça va bien à Montréal ces temps-ci Raynald.

You know, Son Ultime in Magog-Orford, has some good prices for previously owned Bryston amps and preamps. People are always looking for the proverbial scro. Well, case in point, a 2.5Bsst2 for 2250.00$ CDN with its remaining transferable warranty of 18 years, is very good. Better still, this amp could be acquired for 2000.00$ . This is one example that sometime it's better to look for quality than the famous scro. I'm sure in USA you have lots of audio stores that have similar deals to be had.
