Bryston vs PS Audio

Is a Bryston .5B preamp a step-up from a PS Audio 5.5 with M500 power supply? I have the PS Audio preamp and Bryston 4B amp and am intrigued by Bryston quality.

Is your opinion based on actual listening or brand bias?

I thought the 5B was an amplifier? I have a 3B and could not be happier. Would love to hear a bigger bryston, but just don't have the cash.

I think you missed the tiny little period before the 5. The Bryston .5B is indeed a preamp, older...some with phono stages some without.
