But I completely agree. Seems an odd time to expect top dollar on much of anything audio related now. Just read a few stories of multi hundred cars in lines for charity food organizations.

Never MC2600s. About 20yrs ago, someone was selling about two dozen MC2500s and MC2600s pulled from naval applications. All had special autoformers with taps suited for driving sonar. They were all pretty beat up and had corners on the faces cut at a 45. Every now and again one of the 2500s pops up on the bay at around $2k.

I actively shopped for an affordable MC2600 for 15yrs before finding two with a year of each other.

I have been wanting to upgrade speakers for some time now. Was pinching dollars and selling gear before the pandemic. The money is in the bank, it's burning a hole in my pocket, the urge for a speaker change seeps into my listening. But; I just do not feel this is a time to be spending money on gear.

OTOH there is the school of thought that says spend it before it becomes worthless.
