C1100 Digital

[JimBob]

Looking at the back of C1100 controller and there's a To Digital Preamplifer . DIN

I suspect this means Mcintosh is coming out with a new DAC. Perhaps the D1100??

Any ideas??

I'd be interested in that. I do know that they used the DIN on the D150 to hookup to the Cd player (MCT450) they released. I wonder if this DIN on the C1100 will connect to the D150.

This seems to be THE question of the moment about the C1100. Now, where's ron-c with the answer?

He could settle it!

It is for a yet to be announced DAC. Hopefully it has better specs than the D150.

Whats wrong with the D150 just out of curiosity?

Nothing at all. It is a great unit. Wrong choice of words. But something that is a dedicated DAC, that is not a preamp would suit me better.

Oh I see.....yes indeed.

Confirmed. It's for a future Mcintosh DAC

Go to C1100 and then click

For Use with Future Mcintosh Model

So I'm looking forward to the D1100 probably at CNet

Anyone have an update on this DAC and the release schedule?
