c220 or C2200

"This seems to explain why many prefer the tube preamps, they have more noise which automatically means more analog sounding." Any analog system will sound more analog if you lower the noise floor not raise it. The difference between analog and digital is that a record or tape can hold vastly more info much of these are low level cues that are discarded by digital and masked by lower quality (noise) analog. Also lp/tape are mechcanical mediums and as such provide signals more easily understood by mechanical amps(tubes) and speakers. There is no such thing as an all digi system if you include speakers and their cables.

Hmmmmm, :scratch2:

Oh well, even if its hybrid digital system (which I think all along I had a full digi system, oh well) , I am still very happy with what the MCD/MDA1k combo had done for me.:music:

Cheers! :thmbsp:

At 2.5 volts out the C220 and C2200 are about -112 Db and the C1000, T or P is -117 Db. The older preamps will not achieve this, tube or solid state.

Thanks,
