Calling All Yamahas. Time to Post Your Pics

Nice little Yammi there Mark, are you planing to pull the CX-10000 or maybe the whole stack. I mean... Using the MX as sub amp... I know a much better job for that one :D

PS. How do this big volume knob sound?

Time Element sorry to hear news like this, I hope you get much pleasure from building a new setup when times are better.

I haven't hooked up the YPC-1 (AKA the big volume knob :D) yet.

I'll set it up in my test system first and see how well it works with a variety of amps: B-2x, B-2, B-1, and MX-D1. At some point I'll set up the YPC-1 in my main system, but that will be a temporary situation. It will not replace the CX-10000 long term.

Hi, new user here and recent buyer of a B-2. The B-2 is unfortunatly not in pristine condition, the right channel needs to warm up before it actually works, but when it does, wow. What could be the fault and can it be fixed?

I have a Sony X707ES hooked into it and am using Grundig Audiorama 8000 speakers :)

Your question would likely be better served posting a new thread in vintage solid state. It's also usual and customary to introduce yourself in the introductions thread.

Cheers!

Alrighty, I think I might just do that, thanks for the advice. :music:

Cheers!

A few of you have inquired why I am parting with my NS 1000's ( and the rest of my rack too ) . The decision did not come easily but I am having major financial problems , and could not justify missing my mortgage or credit card payments when I have the ability to sell this equipment and meet my obligations . Whoever said " He who dies with the most toys wins " did not have to pay $ 5000 for homeowners insurance !

Well - as much as it sucks and blows at the same time, when the economy gives you lemons you should turn them into Lemonade: think how much fun it will be building a new system when the lemonade is finally ready :music:

And besides - although somebody once said " He who dies with the most toys wins", there is somebody here at AK whose logo state that said " He who dies with the most toys is nonetheless dead", so...:thmbsp:

Mark,

I'm really curious about your experience hooking passive YPC-1 with B-2.

I use resistors ladder in my system and it works very well.

Regards,

The top of the line Yamaha musical instruments are made in Japan to very hight standards, and compare favorably with the big names. Yamaha went after Buffet and Selmer with these CX clarinets. I have had this one for about 10 years.

Interesting thing about 'vintage' clarinets is that they are not coveted like 'vintage' guitars. Old clarinets don't get better with age, they wear out.

The high-end Yamaha classical guitars have been hand made in Japan for many years by Japanese luthiers that studied in Spain. This one is from 1995. I ordered it from a dealer and I got the impression it was made-to-order. Took 9 months.

There is an excellent CD by Grusin and Ritenour called "Two Worlds." On the CD Grusin plays a Yamaha grand piano and Ritenour plays a 1971 Yamaha classical guitar.

Nice instruments ic-racer, but they would fit better in a different forum.

OK, I found this thread in the "New Posts" but, Duhh.., I see now that it is clearly in the "Vintage Solid State" section. I guess they could move those posts to the off topic section.

Anyway, how about these, A-1000 and M-45
