Yamaha did a great job with the MX-1 & MX-2. Both are excellent amps.

Nice amp Broons, i would sugest you look for a CX-1. Then you can alwayes upgrade the MX-2 later if you desire, it also gives you a chance to compair the 2 last TOTL pre amps from Yamaha.
There is one thing I wander about so, why did Yamaha not put the trafos into a box in the box for better shielding - do any know? It looks to be quite easy the way it is build. Or is the small cobber shelding I see enough to do the trick?
NB. just don't compair it to the MX-2000, boy did that one sweep the floor. I am still puzzeled about what happend to my speakers, the M-85 was just left somewhere in the dust - wow

There's a CX-2 on you know where...
I don't know about the shielding Anders...perhaps a cost saving measure? That doesn't really make sense though...
And no, no direct comparisons with the MX-2000 as it mops the floor with almost every amp I've ever had :thmbsp:

I have a CX-1000 as my main preamp actually. It's paired with my MX-2000 and they too work well together.
