Can anyone identify these Bose speakers?

Kids version of a 901? Can't read the markings. Look very interesting though.

They are Microstatic speakers from Micro Acoustics.

They appear to be add on tweeter modules of some sort (whatever they are). They look like JansZen electrostatic tweeter modules - I cannot quite read the back panels... Bose made (and still makes) a wide variety of pro audio hardware - perhaps something of that ilk?

+1 I remember those and the other Micro Acoustic speakers they sold to finance the development of the Micro Acoustic phono cartridges.

They were sold together with a pair of Bose 901, probably first gen. They looked pretty cool together. What will the Microstatic speakers add to the sound - more high frequenzy? I'm guessing they should the be placed on top of the 901s. Or are they for a second, but smaller, room?

those are indeed the microstatic add-on tweeter modules to boost a speakers treble. many early 70's speakers like fisher, klh and bose had muted treble compared to later speakers to come and so this was a niche product that had a short run and was often sold with bose 901 series I & II speakers.
the problem with that though was the Bose EQ which has un-deafeatable treble boosts so this would have to be run pre-eq by splitting the preamp output so it could also be sent to another separate amp for the microstatic.
the whole arrangement didn't work out all that great for the trouble and extra expense.
the bose eq is not a part of the microstatic tweeter array.
the McIntosh speakers later used a similar array built-in.
microstatic used the very popular (and still excellent) peerless cone tweeters, so maybe you can part it out?

I don't own these speakers myself, but was wondering if I should be looking out for them and buy a pair if I found them, to accompany my Bose 901s. Seems like they require a bit too much work for me. I like simple and straight solutions. Adding a equalizer to the Boses is where my limit goes for complex setups
