Can of Worms! KLIPSCH "pecking order" ?

Actually, it all comes down to how much room you have. The Heritage series is not what one would call diminutive.
CornerHorns
Belle Klipsch
Cornwalls
La Scala
Forte, Forte II
Chorus, Chorus II
Heresy, Heresy II

As far as not finding CornerHorns or Cornwalls, you might checkout EBAY. Klipsch is alive and well, there.
 
From just the Klipsch speakers I have actually owned and have extensive knowledge of, my rankings would be:

LaScalas (but only with upgraded crossovers)
Cornwalls
Forte II
RF-7
Epic CF-4 (hard to find and definitely a different kind of sound from Klipsch)
Chorus II (I actually prefer the Fortes to the Chorus even though the Chorus is the bigger brother)
Chorus I
KLF-20
Quartet
Heresy

I'm sure the K'Horns would be at the top of my list if I had the right room for them.
 
The only Heritage models I've ever heard were Klipschorns and Cornwalls (and I rate 'em in that order, natch).

Luvin' my RB-75s from the Reference series though...
 
I have recently picked up two pair of KG 4's at bargain prices. Oak set cost me $142.00 off CL, walnut set cost me $150.00. No love for my speakers?

kgs are a separate line...but yours...the kg4s are WELL received by most everyone...they are 2 way with plenty of bass...how's that for love??? :D

Also, bear in mind Scott that the thread was directed towards vintage Klipsch speakers, and most people have confined their answers to ranking speakers from either the Heritage line or the "extended" Heritage line.

The KG series does not belong to either line. I'm sure that if we wanted to open the ranking to all Klipsch speakers even including the KG series (e.g. Reference, Legend, KG, etc.) that would make for a most interesting ranking. Therefore, I'm sure that the omission was not intentional.

Yes, certain Klipsch models can be interesting at higher volume levels when run by lower quality solid state. Garbage in, garbage out.

On the other hand, a variety of Klipsch models provide sweet horn sounds - especially paired up with the right sources and amplification. Klipsch has designed and produced numerous speakers, so generalizations are difficult to make throughout all of the modern and vintage lines.

We encourage you to listen to some Klipsch speakers so that you can provide the masses with an informed opinion based on your own personal experience. :banana: or :thumbsdn:.

Found this old thread, I'd be interested to see if any of these opinions have changed.

What I noticed about my Cornwalls is, they are way better sounding on a good tube amp compared to SS. All my Klipsch collection sounds good on my Fisher's, but the Cornwalls go to another level. I hear details in soundtracks that you just don't get in other speakers. I do have Crites tweeters installed in them which helps.
 
Certainly a question to be answered with a lot of prejudice just because of how we all hear things differently. We own four complete sound systems except the one in our camper which is all Klipsch the rest have different offerings to go along with the Klipsch. Our latest addition to help out the LaScalla's are a pair of BFM TT sub base cabinets.
 
In general, I prefer the Heritage and Extended Heritage line in Klipsch. I count the Chorus and Forte lines as Heritage as they largely are Heritage in their core DNA. But fit within the Heritage family. I have heard all the Heritage family. I like these speakers in this pecking order.
