Can't post, Can't Edit, Permissions, etc... Please use this thread

Maybe it isn't a sticky forum but the mods make stickies out of popular threads so they can be found quickly
OK, those "sticky" threads are the ones at the top of the threads that are marked with a push pin as shown in your General Audio image:

A variation on this is like in the Fisher forum, which has a separate sub-forum for most of the stickies.

Most things work pretty good but I can't find how to open up the Sticky forum, or whatever the correct term is???? Everyone keeps telling me it's at the top of the page. I don't know if it's every page or each forum home page? Thanks for your help. Regards, parman
There is no such thing as a "Sticky Forum" on AK. What SOME forums have is a thread (or more) marked as "sticky" that keeps it at the top of the threads list in that section.

Am I the only one on AK using a "vintage" apple product? (iPad)
I have an iPhone 13 Pro - its about 4 years old now. I generally run my computers well past the expiration date, until very recently. Until 2 years ago I was using a 2009 MacPro tower computer I had hacked repeatedly to run a newer OS than it originally allowed.
But I got a 2022 Apple Studio M1 Max maybe 2 years back, and last Jan my wife suggested I replace it with an M4 Max before the tarrifs raised the prices, and so she could have my older M1 (to replace her 2013 MacBook Pro). But she is horribly afraid updating her machine will break her email and document archives, so the newish M1Pro is still sitting unused on the floor in my office!
She does have an older iPad I bought her maybe 6 years ago, but we mostly use it to manage our WiimPro, and rarely use it to surf the web or do email.

The DuckDuckGo problem likely has to do with Cloudflare. One problem is that some new AI crawlers break the rules and can be notoriously difficult to protect against without having some side effects. It's on the list of issues to fix, meanwhile AK is accessible using other browsers and search engines as reported above.
Whatever the problem is it is still not resolved and we don' t know when it will be, I tried Edge but I was invaded with pub all over...I believe it is the DuckDuckGo ad blocker, but I will not change from it!

We have someone working on this. Just think about it like playing with dominoes. One thing gets fixed then another one falls and needs to be fixed and so on and so on.

It may not seem like it, but we are making progress.
Thank you very much for your kind answer, we all hope that this will be solved quickly!

Ok, I don`t know what your EDGE`s browser`s privacy settings are set for, but I have had no problems using it on this Win 11 Pro recently purchased HP laptop, and the prior 12 yr. old Win 10 laptop since my first use of EDGE in 2020.

I see zero advertisements on either laptops while on the A/K forum and any other internet site I visit, due to my maximizing all privacy setting of the browser configuration settings, which by the browser`s default settings are leaking every use of the EDGE browser that is heavily exploited.

And also all uses of EDGE are through its selectable InPrivate optional browser availability.

Trust me, I`m not a fan boy of Macro-Sh#t, but have learned how to track down & turn off all of its leaking browser default privacy settings while still having full functionality using it.
I also have done the same with Win. 10 & 11 OS` internal privacy settings maxed out as well, so with all those privacy leaks plugged my internet experience is ad free enjoyable.

I also have DuckDuckGo`s excellent browser installed on this Win11 Pro laptop for enjoying unlimited hrs. of totally ad free YT videos for the past 3 months, and it apparently works just fine on A/K, as well.

I only occasionally experience minor glitches while on A/K the past handful of months, that I found refreshing the page I`m on several times usually allows my desire task to complete that was initially not responsive or sluggish when I attempted it.

I figured out decades back that its not a go idea to go wondering around the internet with my fly open (metaphorically speaking concerning privacy)

Works very well for me.

The problem is accessing AK with DuckDuckgo on my android phone since last week, I' ve checked and nothing changed from my side.
I have all the barriers on my desktop so no problem there except that I am not on it all day so I will not be on AK as before!
PS.: Pse. note that all the other sites I access with DuckDuckGo from my phone are all working so AK is the problem!

Am I the only one on The Planet using a "vintage" apple product? (iPad)
"Vintage" ... "Apple" ...? These terms have never appeared w/in the context of a single statement ever until now, Te.

Anyway, I "fixed" your original query.

ps - I gotta get around to these threads in forums I normally do not frequent, there's tons of great material for riffing and ricocheting in good fun.

My total browser`s experience`s have never, nor will ever involve a cell phone, smart, or otherwise, due to non ownership of said device !

So my above post experiences was based on regular platform browser Windows computer`s use of them.

No doubt you`re having some kind of issues using DDG, to access A/K, via a mobile platform.

BTW, have you checked with DDG`s website, by chance, to see if there is an available update for their mobile version browser, since I been using DDG`s browser they`ve updated it several times that I`m aware of ?

Good luck getting it sorted out, antpaubarcar, Sir.

Get in line buddy! Haha just ribbing ya. There’s a small (I think) bunch of us awaiting a fix action. iPhone no issues, my Linux based Raspberry no bueno for the last month or so. It must be individually machine IP related. I just want someone to message back to say “hey we’re looking into your issue.” I’m sure after saying that, that I’ll be at the back of the queue. lol

Just started getting a semi-transparent ad pop-up across the entire top of the page. Using Microsoft Edge on PC with Windows 10. Tried clearing Edge cache, but still there.
