Can't post, Can't Edit, Permissions, etc... Please use this thread

iPad
IOS: 10.3.3
Safari.
No reply window, which means I can't post messages or upload pics, videos.
Checking alerts or private messages takes me to a separate page, same with giving a "Like".

***
If I turn off JavaScript, I get a sliver of a reply box (without any of the tools that accompany creating a message) I can only create a message, still cannot upload any files. But navigating AK with JavaScript off is not good.
This message was only able to be created with JavaScript off.
I am unable to show you specific screenshots of what AK looks like on my IPad now.

Hi everyone, my husband Nat Eddy, a frequent poster here, is getting a 403 Access Forbidden message on his laptop when he tries to log in. Any advice for him? Thanks!

What browser and search engine is he using? You apparently have access, so is he using different to you?

As noted above, some are seeing this particularly with duckduckgo search engine. Try using Firefox, Brave, Chrome, Startpage, Vivaldi or others, if not already using, and see if that at least gets him access until this is resolved.

I get a 403, starting a little over a week ago.

Opera version 79.2.4195.etc
Android 7

I can log in fine using Chrome. Everything looks normal.

That's what I see except instead of the blue message there are advertisements. The 2 tabs (new post/post thread) are on the far right side of the screen. I'm using Chrome on my laptop
The blue message has an "x" at the upper right corner, which would make that text box disappear if it is clicked. Perhaps that was previously clicked and so no longer shows.

Chrome will typically show the ads; a different browser might change that.

To get the previous image that I posted I used Portrait mode, which reduces the available display width/pixels for viewing data, restricting the amount of information that can be displayed. When changing to Landscape mode, all the usual links are there. So you seem to be experiencing the equivalent of limited data width screen layout, even though you are using a laptop, which typically has a high resolution display in landscape. Info on the laptop and OS might help, as well as a screenshot.

Android 16
Opera browser version 93.4.4906.86552

Same on previous phone using Android 14 and same browser.

Nat is using Chrome. He has an older laptop. And yes, we each have our own computers. He has a new small tablet with a touchscreen he's trying to use. Ah, technology. It just isn't as straightforward as audio.

PS. So meant to clarify that his error message is coming with his older laptop, an old HP Chromebook. He doesn't get an error message on the new little tablet, but as he just got that, using the touchscreen is awkward to use for posting until he gets a keyboard.

Thank you for those.

The first image with the General Audio page looks like it has the usual information. What are you saying is missing?

The main Forums page looks to also be OK with all the links at the top except, perhaps, with the omission of the description of the forums under each forum title - but that might be that type of page layout with the "Members online" section on the right of the page vs. at the bottom of the page. I will maybe try a few different devices to see if I get similar with that layout.

Most things work pretty good but I can't find how to open up the Sticky forum, or whatever the correct term is???? Everyone keeps telling me it's at the top of the page. I don't know if it's every page or each forum home page? Thanks for your help. Regards, parman

Hmm, "Sticky forum", I'm not sure what that is. Maybe those telling you where it is can advise what it is or post a screenshot of that.

Still the same situation, I think that
this is not normal, no answers no info., no Nothing!!!
....
I get this too with duckduckgo and have already raised this issue up for review. Meanwhile, Firefox and Brave are working fine
Some of the admins have limited availability, dealing with other personal priorities, others are playing whack-a-mole addressing relentless attacks that are constantly evolving, as well as tweaking things, trying to resolve all these resultant issues. Some things take time to track down, understand and resolve so, please, your patience is requested. Meanwhile, by all means keep posting your issues here in this thread. They're not being ignored.
Would you guys mind also firing over your IP address to me?

We're helping out with this stuff. I bet it is a cloudflare issue. Need to protect the servers from the bazillions of AI crawlers, while letting through the good crawlers so we can still rank for search.... and many of them spoof certain user agents so its a new game a whack-a-mole with ensuring access.
....
The DuckDuckGo problem likely has to do with Cloudflare. One problem is that some new AI crawlers break the rules and can be notoriously difficult to protect against without having some side effects. It's on the list of issues to fix, meanwhile AK is accessible using other browsers and search engines as reported above.

Maybe it isn't a sticky forum but the mods make stickies out of popular threads so they can be found quickly
