Just started getting a semi-transparent ad pop-up across the entire top of the page. Using Microsoft Edge on PC with Windows 10. Tried clearing Edge cache, but still there.
FWIW, With my very aggressively completely maxed out privacy settings on EDGE browser`s settings, and running through their inPrivate privacy browsing option, I`ve not seen a single ad on A/K, and any other internet sites visited, nor had any internet site functional issues by doing so since switching over 5 yrs. ago to EDGE, both on a local account only (no MS account ever !)configured 10 & currently 11 OS !

You might wish to fully, and I mean, fully, take the time to explore and dig deep into all of EDGE`s browser`s settings that by default are a ad rich/privacy leaking sieve, along with Win 10/11`s wide open by default OS privacy settings, as there is a bunch of them !

After I closed "all" the Privacy leaks on both OS` and EDGE, I found I could actually stand using the internet, along with Spybot`s free anti-beaconing app stopped all the MS phoning home privacy, tracking leaks as well from Win 10 OS through currently 11.

I refuse to suffer advertisement rich page clutter (yeah, I`m a "free loading parasite", so what !) while trying to use the internet, if I couldn`t run a clean of ads of all types page experience, I wouldn`t be posting this suggestion to you right now, because I would not be online !

Just a suggestive thought, dankik, Sir.

I've been happy with DDGo blocking. These issues have just popped up a few weeks ago.

I have both EDGE and DDG browsers installed on this Win 11 Pro laptop, and just last week when I saw complaints concerning issues with DDG, I opened it up, logged onto A/K with no problem, wandered around checking DDG`s functionality on A/K, then sent a successful conversation test post to my A/K friend Te Te, we communicated back and forth a few times, with no glitches/issues with my use of DDG during my attempts to see if I might experience what the use of DDG on A/K complaints I was reading on A/K out of curiosity.

I 100% use DDG browser for endless hrs. of totally advertisement free enjoyment of watching no user account logged on YouTube videos for over 3 months now.

Ultra Greedy Google, who owns YT tries pounding on my DDG browser`s locked door to send ads, but zero external inserted video commercials, or the upper page right static ad links pollute my thoroughly enjoyable YT experience, which gives me great smiling smugness enjoyment, since I very, very greatly despise all that is anything to do with Google`s relentless exponentially growing internet spying/tracking invasion since 2002!

Google Search, etc. might be claimed as your internet friend, like some like to claim, and that`s fine, just not in my internet wheel house, on my watch !

Couple plugings and firefox does the same with youtube:

Untitled-1.jpg

No ads, no algorithm "suggestionedvideos" endless rabbit hole, no log ins. Downloadable with a click if you want to save one to view offline later on as well. You can even choose to hide the comments if you want (because they're usually all brain dead comments anyways)

Google sure doesn't like it though, they're always trying to break the plugin's access....

Yes, I`m aware of other browser`s similar blocking capability, DDG was already 95+ % configured, with the setting`s option of selecting the YT targeted ad free check box.

No changes with permission's error on this side. Spoke with a member on here that had the same issue back at the end of 2025. He bought a new laptop, to replace an aging one, to fix his permission issues. Ain't happening here.

I've updated sudo apt-updated my entire machine including browsers, tried Firefox, and deleted all browsing/cookies with no success. Awaiting further instructions from the Admins.

Yep, still can't upload pictures, videos, no reply box, absolutely nothing has changed with my issues here on AK since server upgrades and cloudfaire. A few people said they have older apple products than my iPad and have no issues, so not sure what to think.

I didn't see it mentioned earlier - who is your ISP? How do you connect to the internet and to AK?

iPad
IOS: 10.3.3
Safari.
No reply window, which means I can't post messages or upload pics, videos.
Checking alerts or private messages takes me to a separate page, same with giving a "Like".

If I turn off JavaScript, I get a sliver of a reply box (without any of the tools that accompany creating a message) I can only create a message, still cannot upload any files. But navigating AK with JavaScript off is not good.
This message was only able to be created with JavaScript off.
I am unable to show you specific screenshots of what AK looks like on my IPad now.
I'm not picking on you, just trying to find what we are dealing with here. When my wife's first iPad stopped working I got her a newer one for Christmas 2019 just before COVID hit. That "newer" one was an Apple 10.2-inch iPad (7th Gen) Wi-Fi 32GB - Gold via Walmart for $249 in Dec 2019. I can still use it online just fine.

I did a search and Google says:
iOS 10.3.3 was a minor update released by Apple in July 2017, primarily offering bug fixes, security enhancements (addressing vulnerabilities like buffer overflows and memory corruption), and improvements to Bluetooth, AirPlay, and Safari performance, and was the final supported iOS version for devices like the iPhone 5C and Wi-Fi-only iPad 4th Gen before newer iOS versions became unavailable due to hardware limitations. It focused on stability rather than new features, patching security flaws that could allow arbitrary code execution, and improving connectivity and app experiences for older devices that couldn't update further.

Yes, definitely cannot update any further with this IPad, I'm thinking I got this in 2012 for some reason.
I have Comcast X-Finity for my internet provider.
