Hi, can Snap-in Nichicon KG capacitors be used instead of a radial- capacitor and wired into the holes?
In the pre-amp section 2200uf 50v

Yes it can be done but you have to get inventive (these are the caps I put in my Onkyo M508)

Where in the preamp section is this cap? If it's actually in the preamp section, it could be the 2200uF cap that is part of the RIAA filtering circuit. If so, then a 50V snap-in cap would be overkill.

It has been upgraded—far better than the factory version. Even the original Chinese capacitors had a pleasant sound signature.
However, the bass has become even more pronounced after the upgrade; I’ve been trying to fine-tune it for two years now. I suspect the speakers themselves might be the issue—they likely require a larger room—but it still sounds beautiful.
Capacitors used:
Nichicon FG for the power supply;
audio note power suplay pre amp 220uf
Nichicon Bipolar ES for the signal path and feedback;
Elna Silmic for the signal path;
Mundorf for the main filter (large capacitors);
Elna Cerafine for decoupling 2 47uf
Elna Cerafine dc Before bias adjustment 2 47uf
Jantzen 0.47 film
I’m just curious to experiment with "audio-grade" capacitors to see if they actually make a difference, or if it’s all just in my head.
