Cartridge I.D.

Hello,
Purchased a new turntable at an estate sale today. I was wondering if anyone can identify this cartridge that came with ??

It should have the model number on the top of the cart. Looks just like the Signet TK5E I just got with a turntable.

thanks brianr, that sure does look like the animal i am dealing with. does not appear to be anything special, does sound pretty good.

It's a Signet made by Audio Technica What model not sure of. Best way to find out is remove it from the head shell.

ok, maybe that comment was a little harsh for it does sound perfectly lovely. i guess i was hoping for something considered a little more higher end but again it does sound perfectly lovely. i guess you can only expect so much from a changer...

What model not sure of. Best way to find out is remove it from the head shell.

Not so familier with this model turntabe / headshell and the mounting screws are hidden. Kind of want to get a little more familer with the cartridge before I remove stylus to access the screws. I am a little apprehensive knowing the value of some of the cartridges out there. I bought this on a whim not being familer with the tt or cartridge, just dont want to screw anything up.

What you own is a Signet TK 5 or 7E cartridge. Very light tracking. Excellent sounding cartridge and a natural in low to medium mass tonearms. I own one and use it with my better records. :tresbon:

KT: You sure? Looks like the body has black top part to me, which iirc should be a TK1E then. The exemplar in question could have a different needle, though - hard to tell from the pic...
