It's a variation on the same theme as the Sanyo-Fisher MG-09 or Numark GT ("Groove Tool"). Very basic cartridge. The Dual deserves much better.

Cartridge ID

Thanks for the reply. I completed a complete rebuild on the table and this was already mounted and served as test cart/stylus to make sure all was well. I have a Shure M91E and AT125LC. It will probably install the AT125LC

Play a record or two just before you make the switch and report back on the differences you hear.

report on cartridge AT125LC

I mounted the AT125LC and my oh my!!!! The whole spectrum of sound is so much clearer and much more authority. Bass much more defined and quick. Mid range very clear and highs freg. are very good. Piano sounds great. So.... I put on my favorite Steve Earle, "Guitar Town" album and just settled down and enjoyed. The shure M91E was good but not as good as the AT125LC which is a mid to high compliance cartridge. Tracking at a hair under 1.5gr. Recommended range is 1.0 to 1.8gr.

Sounds like you nailed it in just about every sense of the word. Ya done good.

They're both mid-to-high (well, call it upper mid) compliance cartridges, but one was designed a decade earlier, more or less, and that covers a very busy time in cartridge and stylus design. Glad you had a happy ending.
