I don't think so. I have been seeing a contraction of the number of shows in any number of industries these days.
After having spent time earlier in this decade deciding and paying for trade show booths to attend for a portfolio of software packages, I can tell you that the explosion of trade show venues absolutely needed to contract. Far too many shows for the $$.
Kudos to D&M and others for watching their purse strings!

D&M would be there if they thought the business would be there.

As a dealer for several of their brands including McIntosh, I can tell you they have stepped up support and training for existing dealers. McIntosh seem to be focusing on making the dealers better by offering closer support. I like what they are doing.
D+M has quality dealers in every market and they can only support a given number. They are not trying to grow or maintain business by adding dealers.
I will be at CEDIA again this year looking for specific items to fill special needs but our principal lines have been set for some time. CEDIA is good for seeing people that I may only get to see once a year. D+M are bringing those people and their training to me during the year.
